This event is open to anyone curious about what it takes to create a writer’s life: How to foster creativity, healthy writing habits, how to promote your work and how to deal with your inner critic.
Do you love to write, but would die before calling yourself a “real” writer? Does writing come easily, but you’re not sure that what you have to say is important? Do you have a book in you – the one you’ll write once you quit your job and move to Paris?
Or maybe you find writing difficult, but would love to use writing as a vehicle for leading a more creative life.
Any writer will tell you that their best work comes at surprising times. That showing up habitually is crucial to ultimately getting to the good stuff. They’ll also tell you how writing is therapy, and that focussing on the process over the product is the key to transcending silly mind chatter. There’s a phrase for it in fact: being “in the flow.”
It’s so exciting to be collaborating with writer, Emmie Rae, on a special event to bring your inner writer into being. Emmie Rae is a published author and poet and the writer behind the popular Instagram Squashed Mochi, with daily writing project of the same name.
Emmie will share her insights and ongoing journey of writing. How she uses it as meditation and self reflection, the effects of writing on her life at a greater level, and how she stays motivated.
